SYNOPSIS:

WEDNESDAY 9TH AUGUST 2023 09:30 Wayne, 44, is sitting in his favourite chair, while Enid, 42, is hoovering in the same room without speaking to each other. Suddenly, there is a knock on the door, and Enid answers it. Wayne overhears Enid talking to Brian, who is there to give her a psychic reading. Wayne leaves as he feels their relationship is over due to the overwhelming silence between them. FLASHBACK – THURSDAY 10TH FEBRUARY 2022 When Enid is in the kitchen with her laptop and papers strewn all over the table, a postman knocks on the door with a parcel. She signs for it excitedly as it contains her new Resin business materials. However, as she excitedly opens the box, her mobile rings with a potential customer cancelling their order. This upsets Enid and to make matters worse, Wayne walks in and argues with her because she used the rent money to pay for her materials. This is the final straw, and Wayne leaves for the pub, leaving Enid distraught. Wayne arrives at the pub and sees ANYA (38) and is instantly attracted to her. Fuelled by the upset in his home life he decided to flirt. Wayne and Anya grow closer and finally kiss this makes Wayne pursue an affair with Anya, who we find out is equally unhappy in her relationship. They decide to consummate their affair by going to the park. After Wayne and Anya have sex Wayne wants to walk her home but Anya is a little hesitant saying she will be fine. Wayne is insistent and he walks her home, there is a moment when Anya is apprehensive almost frightened as she walks up the stairs and goes home. Wayne hears BEN (38) shout at Anya and hears him slap her. He calls the police and they come and arrest Ben. WEDNESDAY 9TH AUGUST 2023 15:30 Wayne and Anya discuss their future in the park. Anya thinks she's pregnant, and they decide to move in together and spend the rest of their lives together, in love, this is all Wayne wants it is better than the stagnation Enid and Wayne are in. They try to find a quiet spot in the park, but it's cordoned off by the police. They go to a hidden stream and make love. Wayne realizes he wants to be with Anya, but he needs to finalize things with Enid before committing. Reluctantly, he leaves Anya at the park and heads home. This is his epiphany. When at home he sees Enid with a police officer and goes into the kitchen to give them privacy, however, he cannot help but feel drawn to listen to the conversation from the hallway. The police officer is discussing a murder at Lovers Copse and has the scene photographs Enid is visibly disturbed by the images. The police officer starts to discuss the case and the victims. As the scene unfolds it becomes apparent that the murdered couple were Wayne and Anya. The police officer discusses with Enid that Ben a notably violent man had murdered them by shooting Wayne through the back of the head and the bullet passed through and killed both instantly. It was then established that Ben committed suicide. Wayne’s world comes crashing down and collapses and screams as the memory of that day rushes back to him. This is Wayne's lowest point. FLASHBACK - Monday 7th August 2023 22:15 Wayne and Anya are making love at Lovers copse again and Ben walks into the copse and sees them having sex, he shoots Wayne through the head and Ben inadvertently also kills Anya. He goes to call the police, but seeing no way out he commits suicide and as he falls down dead he calls the police.   WEDNESDAY 9TH AUGUST 2023 18:30 Wayne despondently goes to Anya’s house he has to tell her the news. When he gets there Anya is questioning where his stuff is and he wants to go in and talk. He asks her to remember Monday night and she cannot this enrages her as she thinks Wayne drugged her. As she processes it she smiles and says they wanted to be together forever and they got their wish.
