A charismatic pool hustler seeks to make a living and sets out to win the biggest 9ball tournament in the country while facing domestic turmoil, alcoholism and addiction.
SYNOPSIS:
In the 1970s era, Louie Roberts is considered by many the Elvis of pool, a daring and charismatic pool player. With the aid of his road partner Roger, Louie aspires to make a living hustling pool and become the best 9ball player in the world. Louie and Roger soon set out on an adventure to win the US Open. Before hitting the road to Virginia, where the tournament would be held, Louie visits a hypnotist to purchase a tape recording with the aim of losing the alcohol addiction and controlling his growing ego. Louie still believes he can drink the right amount of alcohol that allows him to play at a very high level. Roger warns him before the tournament, exclaiming how he must win the title or his approval rating will plummet in front of the community. Will Louie’s skill set and charismatic demeanor be enough to offset the demons within, or is his lifestyle or enemies going to catch up with him?
