GENRE: Historical, Drama
LOGLINE:

When two brothers uncover a hidden WWII journal, its haunting memories of loyalty and sacrifice push them beyond their childish world, reshaping their bond as they grapple with its truths.

SYNOPSIS:

The Nagori is a limited series that uncovers the haunting story of a Japanese American WWII veteran, Teddy Haku, whose memories of loyalty, identity, and sacrifice are hidden in a buried journal, waiting to be discovered decades after the war.

In 1987, two young brothers moving to a secluded property in Hawaii stumble upon the journal, sparking a journey that pulls them into Teddy’s past. Through the journal, they learn of Teddy’s childhood, his bond with his adopted brother Jimmy Morris, and the devastating decisions they both faced during WWII. As the war separates them, Teddy is forced into an impossible position where his loyalty to his country and his heritage collide.

The journal reveals a bond that defied nations, culminating in a heartbreaking sacrifice during the Battle of Peleliu. But as the brothers read on, they discover that there is more to Teddy’s story than they ever expected—secrets, betrayals, and a question that remains unanswered: Did Teddy’s choices ultimately save or destroy him?

With ghosts of the past still lingering, the brothers are left to question whether they truly understand the story they’ve uncovered - and whether the weight of the journal’s secrets will be too much for them to bear.
