SYNOPSIS:
It was the spring of 2024 when the United States of America had to face its enemies on its soil for the first time. A huge conspiracy, born at the highest political and military levels, made the invasion possible when China, North Korea, and the newly-formed Islamic Empire joined forces, putting together the biggest army ever seen in the world. An alliance called “The Union.”
Less than a year later, Jack Blauer, who became President after the execution of Richard D. Stewart and the fall of Washington D.C., was able to obtain an armistice that allowed the U.S. to keep the territories east of Washington. The war was over.
For the next five years, people in the West either got used to their new life or tried to escape to the East. Like in Berlin during the Cold War, many of those who attempted to flee died in the attempt. Since then, the Union Government decided to convert some suburbs into ghettos for people who rejected the new status quo.
Then, in 2030, President Blauer was kidnapped in a raid that preceded the military attack on the Eastern United States. Blood flowed in the streets again. When the President was executed on live stream after ten days of captivity, everyone knew that hope was gone.
So now the United States is under Chinese, North Korean, and Islamic control. The division of the territories hasn’t been easy, but eventually, the three empires reached an agreement to split the whole country.
The major cities, like Chicago, D.C., New York, and L.A., have been divided into control areas. It’s a tough coexistence for the former American people because the Arab, Chinese, and Korean neighborhoods follow different rules and traditions. The only thing they have in common is their hatred for those living in the ghettos.
It’s a bright day in the spring of 2035 when the Chicago Pier Construction Yard explodes, killing hundreds of workers and sinking a Chinese Corvette. It’s another attack by a group of rebels led by DANIEL DONOVAN and SARAH LOCKHART.
After losing a dear friend in Washington D.C., LIAM JONES decides to leave the city and join the rebellion. To do that, he contacts SAVERIO MARCHIONI, the Mob Boss, for a favor. He has no idea how much it will cost him, especially because the latest attack brings GEN. MAHMUD AL-DIN to Illinois.
As Liam reaches the rebellion, he has to reveal his past to gain the others’ trust at a moment when everyone seems to be double-crossing each other and a series of intrigues are threatening to tear the group apart.
The series develops around these machinations, which interfere with the very dangerous actions of the rebels and the violent reactions from al-Din’s ARMY. The General is the mastermind behind all the secrets and trust issues of the rebels, and he will get close to a definitive win by revealing the most shocking thing to Donovan until CARL ROSENBERG decides to come clean and change the rules of the game.
“Trust,” “secrets,” and “past” are the key words from that moment on. Everything could go wrong; the dream of a rising is one step away from being destroyed, but they have to gamble. It’s all or nothing. With the rebellion at its lowest point, they have to go to Washington D.C. to get vital information about what really happened ten years ago. There’s a man who knows how the United States could have been conquered so easily.
The plan is to make him confess on tape and show it to the entire country in order to spark outrage; to make every citizen willing to rebel against the new order. But Gen. Al-Din will do everything in his power to stop them. It will be a race against time, filled with deaths and suffering, in which nothing can be taken for granted.
