The Bunker

As doom approaches in the form of an asteroid, Ray (an obsessive survivalist with a shattered personal life) must choose which of his loved-ones to allow into his survival bunker.

SYNOPSIS:

Ray's parents perished when their car became stuck in a blizzard. Since then, has progressively become more and more obsessed with survival. This becomes fanaticism when his wife gives birth to their daughter.

He commits a large amount of the family's money to build a cabin and a survival bunker capable of sustaining three people.

Over time, Ray's wife becomes disillusioned with their marriage and asks for a divorce.

Shattered, Ray retreats to his mountaintop cabin and nearby survival bunker. There he finds evidence that his wife and best friend have been having an affair.

Before Ray can return home to confront them, the news that an asteroid is heading toward Earth breaks and Ray becomes trapped on the mountain. there he awaits his daughter, who is trained to head for the bunker if the worst occurs.

While waiting at the bunker, Ray witnesses two college kids, fleeing the asteroid, break into his cabin to rest. They are soon accosted by local ruffians and one is killed.

Despite his rule about keeping out of trouble, Ray intercedes and saves the other student (a young woman) and keeps her safe at his cabin.

Eventually, the local punks return and search for Ray.

Just then, his daughter finally arrives and comes into contact with the locals.

Ray attempts to save his daughter, but is caught. He is about to be killed when he is rescued by his best friend and his wife, who were lagging behind his daughter.

Ray is overjoyed to see his daughter and still loves his wife... but the bunker seats three and there are five people hoping to be saves.

Ray PUNCHES his best friend and distrust him long enough for the student, his, wife, and his daughter to enter the bunker and survive.

In the end... Ray, the ultimate survivalist, sacrifices himself serenely while his former best friend grovels at his feet.
