LOGLINE:

The John Larroquette Show meets Doc Martin. Famous television and film actor "Charlie Sheen" is fired from his sitcom, arrested and sentenced to 7000 hours of community service, all to be served at a non-for-profit community theatre.

SYNOPSIS:

Well known television and movie actor "Charlie" [a Charlie Sheen like character] has been fired from his award winning, highly successful, family sitcom due in part to his not-so-private party life style. Having been shot down and hung out to dry in the public eye, he is soon arrested for drunk & disorderly conduct. He pleads guilty to avoid jail-time; however, the judge is a fan of his show, and sentences him to 7000 hours of community service; all of which is to be served at a volunteer community theatre. The theatre serves as a back-drop of a slice-of-life, and opens an avenue for a continuous stream of both regulars and bit-player characters who are vain, dream-eyed, naive, cynical, delusional, passionate, but all together want to be loved; while concurrently, "Charlie" learns humility, understanding, togetherness, community, and relearns what it was like to a small-time actor; but not without feeling the struggle in having to tone down his bad-boy, party-hard ways.
