SYNOPSIS:
Between 1863 and 1866, more than 10,000 Navajo (Diné) were forcibly removed to the Bosque Redondo Reservation at Fort Sumner in current-day New Mexico. During the Long Walk, the United States Military forced all Navajo men, women, and children to traverse 250 - 450 miles without regard if they lived or died.
One young Diné, Calamity Whitehorse, sees the suffering of his tribe, the children starving and the elders dying due to the soldiers not giving them food or supplies needed to survive. He sees the military enjoying watching them suffer and die, so he decides to take what they refuse to provide them.
Leading a small team from his tribe, they steal food, water, and medical supplies. Evading capture and hiding the supplies at the top of a mountain in a cave that the soldiers can't locate.
