WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
A single coach's nine year old twin son disappears from his Virginia college basketball practice. When coaching his twin sister's Cold War U.S. Olympic Team, he claws to regain his son, battling East Germany's STATE PLAN DYAD and his own government's array of drugs. But the East Germans went too far.
SYNOPSIS:
East Germany kidnaps Virginia coach Ken Calhoun’s nine year twins from his evening basketball practice. His daughter escapes His son disappears along with other high profile child-athletes throughout the U.S.
Ten years later he coaches the 1980 U.S. Olympic Team, captained by his All-American daughter Kelly. His Olympic Dream is shattered as he battles his own government and its array of high tech drugs to keep his team clean. Losing is not an option. When the East Germans, and their outstanding player, Isa Jakobie, demolish the heavy favored Russians in the preliminaries, Calhoun’s dream explodes. STATE PLAN DYAD had worked. But the East Germans went too far. His son resurfaces.
Calhoun’s denial leads him to drink, chasing away those who love him. Aided by Sergeant Ham Brown and his community of black Vietnam Vets, fighting a US cover-up to repatriate their imprisoned POW brothers, Calhoun claws to prove the unimaginable.
His battle to bring home the Gold, the POWs, and his stolen son, not only propels the Olympics to the edge of collapse, but provokes a Cold War gridlock which threatens world peace.
