In 1988, an alcoholic park ranger uses a forest fire to stage a phony evacuation to clear out Yellowstone, locking himself and a group of firemen in the Old Faithful Inn to hunt a creature lurking in the shadows before it can escape and wreak havoc on the park.
SYNOPSIS:
“Faithful Shadow” takes us through Yellowstone National Park during the largest forest fire in the park’s history. Centered around the real evacuation of the Old Faithful Inn during the summer of 1988, a group of park employees become worried when some of their friends disappear during a campout. After the young employees report their missing friends, Ranger Joe Rand can no longer ignore the rising number of disappearances. When a fireman falls into a hole, Joe discovers a network of tunnels running beneath the park, packed with bones and thick with smoke. The injured fireman is escorted to the Old Faithful Inn to recover and wait for the doctor, the fireman carrying him ignore the odd bulges within his suit. The doctor arrives to find a body void of fluids, bones coated in dust. After a few more mysterious deaths within the Inn, Joe comes to the horrifying conclusion that whatever had been lurking beneath the park is now hiding within the Old Faithful Inn. Joe, accompanied by a select group of rangers and firefighters, fake an evacuation of the park and lock themselves in with the creature. Only the creature begins hunting them.
