SYNOPSIS:

PRECIOUS SECONDS Chase Detrick a rogue D.E.A. agent uncovers a drug smuggling operation involving S.E. Asia’s opium cartel and Susan Lockhart, Dir. of Homeland Security. Tortured on Lockhart’s orders, Chase suffers a nervous breakdown and relives fragments of his past life – an I.R.A. gunman torn between a violent political cause and the woman he loves. Faking brain damage, Chase is dumped into a psych ward. There he sees a woman named Laleh on C.N.N. who is the image of his wife from his prior life. Laleh is in the news because her husband Ahmed provided states evidence against his former boss Rasheed, an international arms smuggler. Sensing that Laleh is in imminent danger, Chase breaks out of the hospital to locate the woman who maybe his eternal love. Tracking Laleh down, Chase rescues her from a contract killing in a supermarket. With Laleh shot, Chase hustles her to a motel and field dresses her wound. Chase explains to Laleh that they were married in a prior life and had a child. Laleh tells Chase that he’s flat out nuts! The motel comes under attack by more hit men. Laleh escapes and returns to her family living in the Witness Protection Program. A wanted man, Chase looks up his former D.E.A. partner Estrada who is doing time on trumped-up narcotics charges. Devising a clever ruse, Chase smuggles Estrada out of prison. Halfway to Mexico, Estrada tells Chase of a murder-for-hire plot he overheard on his cell block. This time the target is Laleh and her daughter . Chase drops Estrada off at the border and speeds back to D.C. Laleh and her daughter are trapped in a safe house with a team of assassins. Just before they’re to be executed, Chase crashes in and wipes out the contract killers and whisks Laleh and her daughter to safety. Meanwhile the opium cartel is pressuring Lockhart to resume the drug shipments to U.S. Air Force bases or else. Lockhart refuses as long as Chase is on the lam. Holed-up in a burned-out warehouse, Chase takes Laleh back in time using a recall technique he learned on the mental ward. Convinced now that Chase and her were in love in a past life, Laleh still refuses to leave her husband and run away with Chase. That night a police tactical team infiltrates the warehouse and arrests Chase. Posing as F.B.I. agents, Rasheed’s henchmen roll up and kidnap Laleh and her daughter. Ahmed threatens the Feds with recanting his testimony if Chase is not released. Ahmed instructs Chase to make a deal with the kidnappers – his life for his family’s. Chase double-crosses Rasheed’s goons and frees Laleh and her daughter. On stakeout, Lockhart swoops in and arrests Chase. Transporting Chase, Lockhart’s car comes under fire by cartel hit men causing the vehicle to crash and burst into flames. At a memorial service for Chase, Laleh is shocked when the dearly departed approaches her scarred and limping. Chase explains he bailed out just before the explosion. Realizing that he was only supposed to save Laleh, Chase asks her to travel back in time once more. Laleh agrees and together they discover together the tragic event that separated them for an eternity.
