trapped in the eye of a massive tornado and hunted by a cyclonic demon, a mother and her son must learn to use their powers to survive, and defend humanity in the dawn of a supernatural age.

SYNOPSIS:

this story is based on the very few eyewitness accounts of the conditions inside the eye of a tornado. just like hurricanes, they have eyes, with the largest ones being miles wide, that eye can be a large environment, where things happen that meteorologists could never explain.

we begin with JESSE at 6 years old, as she loses har family in a tornado that she barely survives herself. but in the moment when she passes through the eye of the storm, she finds it to be a very supernatural place where ordinary physical laws cease to apply, time slows to a crawl, and a demonic force known only as the Man Behind the Curtain lurks, feeding on the souls of those taken by the storm.

it reaches for her, but can't in that brief moment before the storm moves on, can't take her.

and ever since, in her hometown of Moore Oklahoma (which has, in point of fact, been struck by more tornadoes than any other city in the modern world) she knows that this thing is looking for her. it is the bringer of the storms, a force known to Native Americans for centuries, and nobody sees the Man Behind the Curtain, and lives to tell of it.

flashing ahead to the present day, her town is beseiged by several converging supercells, which combine to form an eye that hovers over the downtown area, trapping her, her son, a mysterious shapeshifter who has come to guide them, and several hundred very bad people, in this surreal place where science gives way to magic, and much of it is of the dark variety.

she must save her son, for she and him have a purpose, and a vital role to play in the survival of the human race, as paradigms now shift from physical to metaphysical laws, and the world becomes a more strange and deadly place than it has ever known.
