When his acting career fails to launch, an under-qualified 27-year-old must move back home, accept a job in a call center, and endure demanding customers, quirky co-workers, and his high school rival in a position of power on his road to redemption.

SYNOPSIS:

After dropping out of college at 20, DANNY REYES picked up a bartending job at a nightclub in Hollywood while trying to make it big as an actor. Though his acting dreams fell through, he found popularity as a crowd favorite bartender and thought he would be making the big bucks forever. But shortly after turning 27, the club’s new management informed him that he was “too old,” he didn’t have the right “look” to fit their business model, and that he lacked the experience and leadership skills to move up in ranks, so they let him go. Unfortunately for Danny, in all his years of slinging drinks, he never picked up any other life skills or work experience, and it became nearly impossible to find employment.

After moving back to Colorado with his tail between his legs and applying for dozens of jobs, the only company willing to hire him is the TECHNOLOGY for HOME INSTALLATION SERVICES NETWORK, or “T.H.I.S. Network,” a cable/satellite dish

provider whose customer service call center’s office drama almost parallels the ridiculous phone calls that T.H.I.S. receives.

Returning home proves harder to swallow than he anticipated as he re-assimilates into his family, who often probe him about the secret life he led in California, and when he discovers that his former roommate/ex high school rival, BRENT JURGENS, is a supervisor at the company and may, at last, have authority over him.

Among his new companions are LAKAYA WASHINGTON, a hilarious, short-tempered and sarcastic 18-year-old, their boss, ZEKE BAGHLEY, 29, an easy going rebel who hates authority but is trapped in the ’90s, and QUINCY BROWN, a quirky 24-year-old customer service lead with social disorders.

Minor characters include C-S-IVAN, 50, an advanced technical support agent whose work station looks like a crime lab and treats his calls like diffusing a bomb, DIEDRA KING, 44, a hot-tempered, tough love mother figure obsessed with her soaps,

AMY JO SIMPSON, 27, another supervisor who went to high school with Danny and Brent as an ugly duckling who emerged into adulthood as a swan, and BRADLEY VALENTINE, 18, the entitled new kid with a chip on his shoulder and something to

prove, though he exhibits charm, charisma, and flawless skills on the phone.

In his new position as a customer service representative, Danny must survive office politics, learn a million acronyms and procedures, and figure out what he wants to do with the rest of his life before he becomes a permanent fixture like some of the others at T.H.I.S. Network.
