SYNOPSIS:
Leon is a sweet Mexican boy raised by a single mother in a rural part of Mexico. Often bullied by other kids, his mother teaches him how to fight. He learns it so well that by the time he turns ten, the bullies’ parents keep coming to his mother’s door complaining that he hurt their children. A visit to a town circus introduces 15-year-old Leon to the world of street fighting, and shows him a new way of making a living. His mother urges him to stop but to no avail. Leon thinks he’s grown enough to provide for both of them by doing what he does best: fighting. Leon’s fighting success draws the attention of the local crime lord, the smooth and sadistic Don Silvio, who takes him under his wing. Leon begins to do small courier jobs for Don Silvio. The two develop a tight relationship; Don Silvio is the father figure he never had. A few years down the road Leon is hoping to quit “the life” and trade Mexico for the United States, bringing his mother along. And that’s when hell breaks loose!
