Two estranged brothers reconnect when one is dragged back into the criminal underbelly of lies and murder to protect his brother from a murderous mobster in Boston.
SYNOPSIS:
"Robbing Peter to pay Paul" is written along the lines of films such as "Boondocks Saints" and "Run All Night". The story is about Remy McBain, who's just been released early from prison for good behavior after serving several years for armed robbery. With no one awaiting his release, Remy vows to leave his criminal ties in the past and sets out on a journey to a new life. Sometime later, Remy reconnects with his ex-girlfriend and learns that he's a father, and promises to never expose his son to the life that his own father did to him and his estranged brother Jimmy. After a fixed horse race went terribly wrong, Jimmy, the older brother of Remy, finds himself in a bad spot: If he doesn't pay back the money he borrowed, he's a dead man. With his back against the wall and no solutions in sight, he robs the mob with who he and his family once did business to pay back his gambling debt. It doesn't take long for the mob to find out Jimmy was behind the robbery, so they bring Remy into the equation by threatening his family, for the whereabouts of his brother. He's left with a dire decision: Turnover his estranged brother or risk the lives of his new family? Remy's descent back into a life of crime proves to be the latest in a long line of betrayals and buried secrets. For Remy, this is just part of his affliction for dealing with the sins of his family.
