As I write this, Blackmagic contacted me via phone and after their investigation, Sunset Electronics is not one of their authorized distributors. I recently attempted to purchase a new Blackmagic Ursa from Sunset Electronics via Amazon. The shipment date was not only 10 days late to begin shipment when I complained I relied on the shipping information and scheduled a shoot with the Ursa. I thought the company was great. They said they would over night ship a camera and cancel the one that was already in the process of delivery. The camera price was too good to be true ($5,299), and needless to say I did not receive the over night shipment, but the original order was returned from a FedEx facility even after Sunset Electronics knew they never sent the speedy delivery. I will post the information I submitted to the Better Business Bureau. I just want the community to know about this business and I think it's time for the little guy and the small business production companies to fight back. Please help me with my plight? I ordered a Blackmagic Ursa video camera from Sunset Electronics on March 15, through Amazon online ordering service. The price was nearly $600 dollars off the regular price of the camera which you can find from any video or camera business that carries this camera. The delivery was set for between March 20, 2015 and March 26, 2015. On March 27 on contacted Sunset Electronics because the camera was late and I planned a shoot for my business on March 30 giving ample time for delivery to be completed. I spoke with Steven Kaye from Sunset Electronics and he told me through phone conversations and emails, that he and Sunset Electronics would overnight express shipment through FedEX, a new blackmagic Ursa to resolve the issue of not shipping the camera until ten days after the initial order was placed. The only problem with the overnighted shipment was that I would have to drive 2 hours to the nearest FedEx facility to pick the camera up in person because I live in a rural area which I was overly eager and willing to do. After the 2 hour drive, one way, on a Saturday morning to the FedEx facility the I discovered that the camera was never shipped. On Monday March31, I contacted Sunset Electronics and spoke with Steven Kaye again. I was told that the original camera that was shipped and over 10 days late for delivery would have to be returned to Sunset Electronics. Although, I discovered that the shipment was stopped en route and returned to Sunset Electronics. Understandable, but when I contacted Sunset Electronics on March 31, I was told that the overnight shipment to resolve my problem with the inexcusable delivery time of my original order, was never sent and my returned delivery could not be stopped and reshipped to my address as well. I was then told that the resolution for me to receive the camera was to begin a new oeder at a higher price with the original investment of $5,300 not returned to my credit card. This is not possible because I am a small business owner and $5,300 is a huge investment. Bottom line is, the small guy loses and is completely taken advantage of. The shoots I promised to deliver with this camera have left me looking foolish and unethical. Desired Outcome/Settlement Desired Settlement: Replacement New camera of same model at the price I purchased on March 15, 2015, overnight delivery no later than April 3, 2015 to my address that the camera was originally promised so I can conduct my business and deliver the promise of work I said I would to my clients.by April 3, 2015
