THE APOLOGY ( 3RD DRAFT)

LOGLINE:

A man in a troubled marriage is given a second chance to ask forgiveness from his wife. This changes the course of  his life and the life of another.

SYNOPSIS:

Larry (30's) is an unemployed computer programmer who's marriage is being threatened by his attitude to his plight. He is haunted by a dream about a car accident. He clashs with his wife at dinner when all her frustrations are revealed when he forgets their anniversary. They fight, he storms out. That night he drinks, falls asleep. Awakens in the morning, leaves for a job interview never apologizing for his behavior. As he drives to work he spots a familiar car with a familiar driver, the light changes and Larry's car is totaled by a drunk driver. Chris a young black man engaged to be married tries to free him, they shoot the breeze until the car catches on fire. Larry's seat belt is jammed. Chris tries to save him, getting badly burned in the attempt only to see Larry incinerated in the inferno. Larry suddenly awakens, it was a dream. The next morning he gets up but before he leaves, this time he asks his wife forgiveness. He's off to his job interview. Now he's driving again, and everything is like his dream but off by a minute. Chris's car instead of being behind him ends up in front. Too late to stop it, Chris's car is now the one struck by the drunk instead of Larry. Larry runs to the rescue and Chris begins to see that Larry knows everything that's going to happen. Larry tell Chris he was inspired to do the right thing by what he had told him "before" and that he owed him. At the last possible moment, when it looked like they both might die, Larry succeeds getting Chris out of the car saving his life. Chris wonders if he 's a psychic , and in the end invites him to his wedding in thanks for saving his life.
