SERIES OVERVIEW: Distraction revolves around Wesley Ellis, a highly intelligent man with a troubled past, who gets entangled in a terrifying incident in which his small southern town has been mysteriously transported to a devastated land where dangers lurk around every corner. Now Wesley and a group of survivors must try to figure out how they got there, how to get home, and who is causing it all. With two intertwined time lines, the audience is led on one adventure of how the incident will resolve, and another of how it began. PILOT SYNOPSIS: Its been six months since Claire has been abducted. Known as one of the most desired women in the sleepy town of Landrum, South Carolina, Claire is last seen leaving a barn dance where she is stalked on a desolate road by a menacing automobile. Wesley Ellis, her jilted ex-boyfriend, has spent months desperately trying to find her, but most of the town sees him as the primary suspect due to his criminal past. Today, Wesley wakes up in an overturned truck. Nearby, an odd explosion at a radio tower is causing the sky to turn an electric green. The injured man makes his way from rural farmland back to the city, where he runs into Claire's ferocious father, as well as the mysterious person who may have taken the love of his life. When he reaches town, Wesley discovers that the entire city has lost communication with the outside world. He soon becomes awestruck when he finds out that Claire has apparently returned unharmed. As the town celebrates her return, Wesley begins to get the feeling that she may not be who she claims to be.
