When a psychic’s mural prophesies Team 4-0-8 of the T.O.L. at the heart of an apocalyptic future, the Team makes every effort to prevent it - even risks an alliance with the monsters they hunt.

SYNOPSIS:

In the Pilot, we watch as the beginnings of a Mural is manically painted on a cave wall by a person with whited-out eyes. In San Jose, CA, Detective John Lantree, (secretly a Trident of Light (T.O.L.) Hunter) is assigned a

Pilot Synopsis Confidential Case by Deputy Chief of Police, Albert Sands. The Mission: Find Sands’ missing daughter, Alexandra.

Lantree and his T.O.L.-partner, Emily Greyly, investigate and are led to an abandoned church. Where, at Midnight, cultists perform a ritual to sacrifice Alexandra to their demon god. Before it can be completed, the T.O.L. Hunter’s use sniper shots to drop the cultists, rescue Alexandra, and return her home.

But the ritual, more complete than realized, turns Alexandra into the possessed. She murders her mother, and attempts to kill Sands too, who reluctantly shoots her, to no avail, as the demon within keeps Alexandra alive. Sands, frantic, uses Goofer Dust, a gift from his creole grandmother, to suspend his possessed daughter's movement. He calls Lantree for help.

The T.O.Lers show up and aid Sands in successfully exorcising the demon. In doing so, they also tip their hand as they demonstrate uncommon knowledge of the supernatural. All pretense gone, Lantree fills Sands in on the secret of the T.O.L. and their mission.

Sands rewards Lantree’s honesty with a position that will allow him greater freedom to pursue his calling within the Police Department, as Head of the re-activated Bureau for Unusual Incidents. an old supernatural reporting from back in the day.

The next day, Lantree is visited by Gloria, field liaison to the T.O.L. Council. She informs Lantree of an attack in the Turkish desert, where an assault force, of multiple monster factions, decimated T.O.L. teams sent in after them. The Cadre of monsters reportedly searches for something underground, moving eastward along the mystical 37th parallel. Further, Gloria shows Lantree a now completed mural painted by a T.O.L. psychic in a trance/fugue-state. It shows Lantree’s team and Monster-Faction Leaders in a stand-off against soldiers in an apocalyptic cityscape.
