After a first-generation American boy rejects his father's tradition of farming, he is caught between his personal goal of owning a saloon in Sacramento, like his uncle, or and that of his grandfather, a medical doctor, which leads him to heroic actions in the aftermath of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. (Updated version)
Based on a true story of the same family in "Leaving Prussia" screenplay.

I watch a lot of disaster flicks. I think the story has potential, but I’d personally rework the Logline to something like the following:
“Lured to Sacramento by his dreams of owning a saloon, a young man finds himself entwined in the aftermath of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. His courageous spirit and the teachings of his grandfather, a medical doctor, carve him a place as a hero among the rubble.”
Or something along those lines. This was my five minute attempt after reading your logline. I don’t know your screenplay or whether or not my version still rings true for your story, but I felt it was a little more punchier by leaving some details out. I hope this is helpful for you.
