GENRE: Thriller
LOGLINE:
When her autistic older brother disappears, sixteen-year-old Anna Kemp is positive she knows what's happened to him along with two other autistic victims. But is what she 'knows' real or fiction?
Rena, this script concept was used in the 2008 film with Keifer Sutherland Mirrors - which I feel was "borrowed" from my 1997 script Distortions - which I published on Amazon for Kindle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004CYF3V6
In yours, you use a magic mirror - in Mirrors it was the mirrors in and near an old warehouse - in mine, Distortions, the portal to the supernatural was any mirror.
Actually mine has nothing to do with mirrors (It is simply a reference to the fact that Anna's hallucinations mirror reality.). This is a psychological thriller concerning people disassociating and commiting murder... But perhaps I should rethink the title.
That's good Rena... because maybe you'll have better luck shopping your idea than I did mine. However, if you read what I wrote in Distortions on Amazon's thumbnail, it might help solidify your idea... what to do, what not to do... so it's Like X, but with Y to make yours unique. Cheers.
The logline reads better than the prior one, but that last line is too vague. Not sure if you see many questions in loglines. Read your cable TV provider's movie thumbnails for practice.
Thanks for the input, Brian. I'll keep it in mind when I'm ready to shop it, if I ever decide to actually try and do anything with it. A lot of it depends on what my agent has up her sleeves for my future for me on the publishing side of my actual career. Screenplays are just something of a hobby for me now and that's about it.
I publish without an agent taking a piece of my royalties pie... via https://kdp.amazon.com - This month, I'm getting royalties from India via Amazon. Good luck!

I have updated the logline in an attempt to clarify my earlier comment.
