Post-apocalyptic Earth: The mafia creates an interplanetary relocation program, but the new recruits may never make it off-world if one shy underachiever can't stop the mega-corporations, threatening to kill the project before it even begins.
SYNOPSIS:
The world is dying from the devastation of World War III, aka the Bio-Chem War. Joseph Costa, former head of the East Coast mafia, coordinates Project Eden, the plan to transplant thousands to a new planet, millions of light-years away. The only caveat is that, even in cryo-sleep, human beings still age. Thus, only teens and pre-teens would make the journey. Millions were tested, few were selected. Mark Yorick, a shy underachiever, and his best friend, Gigi, were not selected for Eden. But get second chances as backup candidates. In a bid to stop the program, unknown assailants assassinate all first-round candidates. Mark soon goes from running for his life to risking his life to save the entire project with the help of Joseph's field agent, Avery. "The Last Don" is a coming-of-age story where a young man in a technologically advanced world goes through a series of trials to transform from a loser to a leader.

There's a lot of great stuff going on here, Anthony. I do, however, think that you could afford to streamline it a touch and/or break it up a bit with some punctuation. There's so much information coming at us at once and with no "breaks" of any kind, so right now, it's taking a second to process.
Super good start, though!
