The two young lovers from "Il Matrimonio Segreto" by Cimarosa, which I staged in December of 2013, part of an ongoing collaboration with the Japan Ministry of Culture. The project aims to support young artists, in order to develop a new generation of opera singers. We will continue this year with a double cast production of Mascagni's "L'Amico Fritz", which is due next October.
This is from the staging of my original play Cor Draconis, inspired by the life and music of genius composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. Working Shot from my 2004 Madama Butterfly HDTV Project for NHK Japan. We worked on the filming of nine scenes from Puccini's Opera and its literary sequel set in Nagasaki 20 years after. The national treasure Glover Park in the same city allowed us the wonderful location that apparently inspired John Luther Long's novel and its theatrical rendition by David Belasco and the Opera treatment by Puccini.
