SYNOPSIS:

When the world goes to sleep, the Gargoyles awaken!

It's a normal evening in the Gargoyle world as we meet some common rooftop Gargoyles; ROCK, CHIP, SANDY and SHAY who as the sun sets, awake from their lithic slumber and go about their business but it could also be a momentous day as shy and clumsy Rock is planning to propose to his secret love Shay when they next awaken.

It is only when they awaken the next evening that they discover that Shay has been kidnapped by the sinister CLAW, but why?

Not realising the enormity of the situation or knowing where to start, they seek out an old friend of the smart Sandy: STONE, the most feared of all the Gargoyle Crushers. Stone presents the three fish out of water to the Gargoyle Council, an ancient order consisting of the leaders from the eight Gargoyle clans: Human, Dragon, Grotesque, Chinese, Vampire, Wolf, Wooden and Guardian. Here they learn the origins of the Gargoyles beginnings and the mysteries of the stones and with the councils blessing and instruction, they embark on their adventure with Stone as their guide.

As they parkour over the roofs and sometimes the streets of New York, they discover that their friend could hold the key to the whereabouts of the "Stone of Destiny" - A long lost, bright green stone, one of two which brings light and life or darkness to all Gargoyle kind, the other being a stone of the purest black.

They run in to the police, one chubby cop in particular as Rock, it appears, is unable to avoid him, smashing through the roof of his black and white (twice) and through the windscreen on another occasion. Unravelling the mysteries as they go, trying to stay out of sight of humans and attempting to steer clear of the much feared but hilarious, 9th Clan – The Monkey Gargoyles. Neither of which end well, especially for wise cracking Chip who sacrifices himself to the monkey gargoyles in order to save Rock. The monkey Gargoyles don't hurt Chip, just make him dress up and sing while throwing coconuts and blowing rasberries.

Undeterred, they follow the clues that eventually lead them to understand of the enormity of Claws ruthless plan, to unleash the power of the dark stone which will mean an age of darkness for both gargoyle and humankind.

They converge on the New York Cathedral for the final battle with the dark forces of Claw, on both sides are gargoyles of every denomination. Below the cathedral is a hidden chamber which accesses the power of the earth's ley lines which Claw intends to use to inflict darkness on the world.

When all appears lost, they unexpectedly defeat Claws forces with the timely late arrival of Chip and the monkey gargoyles and stop him from unleashing the dark stone on an unsuspecting world.

Anticipating defeat, Claw flees to the roof taking Shay as a hostage, culminating in a showdown between our reluctant hero, Rock and Claw way up the cathedral spire.

“Gargoyles on the Case” opens up a new Gargoyle world of fun, secrets and mysteries that the whole family will enjoy. Although the screenplay stands up on it's own, there is massive potential for franchise, marketing and other platform opportunities. Enjoy.
