THE LICENSE TO KILL AND CROSS RED LIGHTS

GENRE: Thriller, Action
LOGLINE:

A US Navy SEALs Captain, disgraced after his ship was captured by Iranians in the Persian Gulf, is given a second chance to redeem himself. Tasked with uncovering the secret behind Operation Marco Polo, he must prevent stolen classified information about China's latest anti-satellite missile system from falling into the wrong hands.

SYNOPSIS:

Classified information about the latest Chinese anti-satellite missile system (the SC-19 ASAT missile with a kinetic kill warhead) is stolen from a Chinese military research center by North Korean secret agents. These agents, carrying the sensitive information on a laptop, manage to escape through the Wakhan Corridor, a narrow strip of land connecting China and Afghanistan.

The CIA quickly mobilizes, deploying additional surveillance satellites over the Pamir Mountains and the Wakhan Corridor to track the agents' movements. Shortly after, the body of a senior Afghan CIA agent is discovered in the Amu Darya river in Badakhshan Province, an area bordering China, Pakistan, and Tajikistan. This region also hosts a significant Russian military presence.

Satellite imagery confirms that the North Korean agents are moving deeper into the Wakhan Corridor. In response, a joint CIA and MI6 search and strike team, led by Agent No. 009, is dispatched from Bagram Airbase to capture or eliminate the agents. The team is deployed in the snow-covered Pamir Mountains, but shortly after, all communication with them is lost. A rescue mission is launched, but the team has disappeared without a trace.

LIEUTENANT COMMANDER WILLIAMS, a 32-year-old Navy SEALs Captain with experience in Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan, is summoned to the Pentagon. He is briefed on the stolen classified information and its potential consequences if acquired by hostile forces, including Iran and Pakistan. Additionally, he learns of the missing CIA operatives in Afghanistan. Williams is assigned a critical mission: locate the North Korean agents and recover the stolen data, ensuring it does not fall into the wrong hands.

Before departing, Williams is outfitted with cutting-edge technology at a top-secret Pentagon research facility. He is equipped with ski poles that can fire armor-piercing rounds, and a helmet with Google Glass-like technology that can project a lethal laser beam up to 40 meters, activated by his gaze toward a target. Additionally, he receives a flash drive capable of copying or corrupting computer files within minutes. His transport is a state-of-the-art, bulletproof Ford Lincoln, equipped with Hellfire and Stinger missiles, machine guns, and turbojet engines, allowing it to fly like a fighter jet.

Williams flies to Bagram Airbase, where he meets SHAUKAT KHAN, a former CIA agent and a member of the Afghan government's Special Forces. Khan, fluent in Dari, Wakhi, and Pashto, is intimately familiar with the Wakhan region, having spent years there as a yak trader. Together, they set out on their mission to intercept the North Korean agents.

Upon reaching the crash site of the suspected passenger plane wreckage, as shown by US satellites, Commander Williams finds the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 on a secret runway hidden beneath the snow on the snow-capped plateau of the Wakhan Corridor. The plane is only slightly damaged, indicating a controlled landing rather than a crash. However, there are no bodies, human remains, or signs of the passengers or scientists onboard, reinforcing Williams' suspicion that they might still be alive.

During a skirmish on a cliff in the Pamir Mountains, Williams uses his advanced helmet to fire a laser beam at a North Korean agent just as the man is about to kill him with an AK-47. Williams retrieves a laptop from the agent's backpack, but the second operative manages to escape. Upon returning to Kabul, Williams narrowly survives a roadside bomb attack, thanks to his armored vehicle.

Williams receives intelligence that two North Korean agents have been spotted at a luxury hotel in Tajikistan, where they are believed to be negotiating with Iranian and Indian intelligence agents to sell the stolen data. He heads to Dushanbe and discovers a deal is set to take place in an abandoned Soviet-era factory outside the city. Williams intervenes, thwarting the transaction. In a high-speed car chase, he uses his vehicle's advanced targeting systems to destroy the enemy vehicles and shoots down a Russian-made helicopter with the car's Stinger missile.

The Pentagon then detects unusual activity at a deserted former Russian ballistic missile site on the Pamir Plateau. Williams is ordered to investigate. With his team, he discovers a secret North Korean base hidden deep within the Wakhan Corridor. Inside the base, they uncover smuggled weapons, gold, drugs, and boxes of Afghan opium—evidence of a massive black-market operation financing North Korean activities across Pakistan, China, Afghanistan, Russia, and Europe.

Confirming their findings, Williams contacts his superiors. In the film's climactic sequence, American jets and B-52 bombers launch an assault on the Pamir Mountains, dropping bunker-buster bombs to collapse underground bunkers and force the enemy into the open. Abrams tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles, are parachuted onto the plateau, with additional tanks crossing the river to infiltrate a canyon leading to the enemy’s secret base deep within the mountains.

At the forefront of the assault, Williams and his team destroy the North Korean base, eliminate their forces, neutralize the long-range ballistic missiles, and rescue the captured CIA and British agents, along with the imprisoned scientists abducted during the hijacking of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, who were forced to work on secret military and microchip manufacturing projects for the North Koreans.

Returning to the United States, Williams is celebrated for his bravery and skill, restoring his honor and securing his career in the Navy SEALs.
