SYNOPSIS:

Brief Synopsis of Intergalactic Space Rangers Episode: The Star Killer

  • Opens with a man making repairs on a small spaceship on a bright sunny day on a deserted planet. The father works on the ship, while children play outside. Suddenly the sun dims before going completely black. The parents scurry to get their children back inside and call for help.
  • Intergalactic Space Ranger Stone Scott gets called in by his superiors along with the rest of his crew. They’re told that Minear has discovered and stolen an extraordinarily powerful weapon, an ancient device called The Star Killer.
  • The weapon was created by the Pyrians, a long-dead race of warlike aliens that destroyed itself millennia ago in interplanetary warfare with its own colonies.
  • The Star Killer is a fusion disrupter, capable of stopping all nuclear fusion activity in any star.
  • Minear is blackmailing various planetary systems, including members of the United Alliance of Interplanetary States, threatening to shut down their respective suns unless they meet his demands.
  • Minear travels constantly, always on the move, which makes it hard to find and neutralize him. He’s also protected by an armada of ships.
  • The mission is to capture or destroy the fusion disrupter, and capture the bad guy.
  • The rangers’ team sneaks aboard on a re-supply ship and onto the bad guy’s ship.
  • Once onboard the hero discovers a woman, Amethyst, an old flame of his, a beautiful and deadly mercenary who has been working freelance for the bad guy.
  • The hero tells her that they’ve already placed explosives throughout the ship and plan to destroy it if they’re unable to retrieve the fusion disrupter.
  • The fusion disrupter is small and compact. The woman tells the hero that the device is attached to the ship’s pulse cannons and can be removed.
  • After being captured by the bad guy and then set free by Amethyst, the team recovers the device and captures the bad guy.
  • The woman disappears and her ship is seen leaping into hyperspace before she can be turned over for aiding and abetting Minear.
