When a massive Kodiak bear contracts rabies and goes on a killing spree, a Park Ranger, that happens to be an animal activist, must change her ways... or risk becoming a victim herself!
SYNOPSIS:
A young couple is preparing to work for their final summer as park rangers in Glacier National Park, Montana. Samantha "Sam" Wiley, is applying for graduate school to become a Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine. Hence, why her and her fiancé, Ezra McDaniel's, are preparing to move to a big city where all of the graduate schools are located.
As spring hits, and wildlife comes out of hibernation, a rabid raccoon pries its way into a sleeping bear's den. A fight ensues and the raccoon gets in a few bites before the much larger opponent kills the raccoon. However, the infected bites take hold and the bear contracts rabies. The dreadful disease kicks in quickly, causing the massive bear to become extremely confused and aggressive, eventually killing anything in its path. Including a pair of backpackers.
With assistance from local law enforcement, the Park Ranger couple does what they can to find the bear. Being beyond their level of expertise, they're left no other choice than to seek out an expert tracker. That tracker would be a legendary mountain man, Ezra's elderly Uncle Ron.
The couple sets out on an adventure into the deep back country to find the elusive Uncle. After finding him, they explain the situation, but he's not interested for reasons unmentioned. That reason being, Uncle Ron is concerned that the bear responsible for the attacks, could possibly be a Kodiak cub that he illegally brought back from a hunting trip in Alaska many, many years before. He named the cub, Crackerjack!
A night of terror follows. Sam and the Sheriff are the first to arrive on the scene, where a battle soon follows. Unsuspectingly, Uncle Ron shows up to help, creating an unforgettable ending.
