A young Canadian artist madly in love with Oscar Wilde paints his portrait that inspires his controversial "The Picture of Dorian Gray," but struggles as his emerging lifestyle threatens her love.
Is your love struck Canadian male or female? Is he/she in a relationship with Oscar (if so, the Canadian obviously needs to be male.) I love Oscar Wilde, so I find your story intriguing, but the log line is a bit vague.
Hi Leah. " ... threatens her love." in the new logline makes her a female. You see it's recorded, when young, Oscar W. was a womaniser, but realized his homosexuality later, after his marriage and two sons. My protagonist, Frances Richards (a real Canadian artist) did befriend and remained friends with Oscar W. I just dramatized their friendship into a love affair. Sorry for the confusion, but I hope this clears it up. Glad you like Oscar... he was brilliant, but in some respects I believe, a little shallow too.
So the Canadian obviously does not need to be male. Vague is a terrible word to use. This is why we have minds. Imagination as York described earlier is the key. What really is vague about it. It's beautifully written.
Just read your comment Nkosi. Thanks for the compliment. Working now on a biblical TV mini-series "Joseph and the Holy Grail". I hope biblical stays popular!!!
