FEAR OF THE BIG BAD WOLF
By Morgan Leo Shnell

GENRE: Horror, Crime
LOGLINE:

New Year's Eve Portland police detective Barry Urban begins an investigation
into the werewolf attacks in Tanker Mills, Maine.

SYNOPSIS:

New Year’s finds Portland police detective Barry Urban in Tanker Mills following

local police to the Coslaw house. Inside is a scene of carnage with the naked body of

Reverend Lester Lowe dead on the floor. He overhears a wheelchair bound Marty Coslaw

and his sister Kate tell a Deputy that Lowe’s a werewolf and had attacked their Uncle Al.

On a stormy January night Arnie Westrum is alone in shed as the wind rattles the

door. As he looks we see in the window a long snouted yellow eyed face quickly duck

away. We’ve just seen the werewolf. Something outside starts scratching/whining on the

door. Arnie senses something’s wrong. It snarls and bashes down the door as Arnie tries

to block it but is too late. Next morning Rev. Lester Lowe showers and shaves discovering

odd bruises and scratches over his body.

Urban and Deputy 2 interview Marty about Brady Kincaid. On that day Brady and

several kids fly their kites in the park. As time passes night falls and Brady is the only one

in the park as an orange full moon rises. He pulls his kite down which lands on the other

side of the bandstand and wraps up the string. Suddenly the string twitches like a fish on

a line and comes face to face with the werewolf. He runs for his life as the beast chases

him grabbing him with his human fingered paws. Next morning Rev. Lowe wakes up

naked on the floor of his home. At the park Constable Neary and Deputy 2 find the

decapitated body of Brady Kincaid.

Rev. Lowe preaches the dangerous nature of the beast to his congregation. As he

does people grow hairy, their ears get pointer, the noses longer and their teeth sharper

until he realizes everyone has turned into werewolves. They attack Rev. Lowe and then

he wakes up safe in bed all a bad dream. Then he discovers the gutted body of his janitor

mounted on the pulpit. Later having coffee at the Chat n’ Chew café a waitress asks Urban

if what they say is true that Lowe’s a werewolf.

Marty sneaks out to the backyard and begins lighting off fireworks near the woods.

The werewolf attacks and Marty takes out its left eye with firecrackers scaring it off.

Sheriff Neary ignores Marty's testimony and is murdered by the werewolf during August.

While trick r’ treating on Halloween Marty discovers Rev. Lowe is missing his left

eye proving he's the werewolf. Urban searches Lowe's home finding his hidden journal

detailing his transformation into the werewolf.

During Nov. Marty sends anonymous letters to Rev. Lowe telling him to kill himself.

In Portland Urban investigates the murder of Milt Sturmfuller decapitated/mutilated in a

hotel parking lot. A phone call reveals Rev. Lowe had checked in the night before plus

DNA and an autopsy uncovers human flesh in Lowe's stomach. Further proof he's the

werewolf.

Marty convinces Uncle Al to spend New Year’s bringing him two silver bullets for

the .357 magnum Kate had acquired from their Dad's dresser earlier. During the

countdown the werewolf crashes through the window and comes at Marty. Marty fires the

last silver bullet killing the beast and changes back into Lowe. Back home Urban tells his

captain nobody’s afraid of the big bad wolf anymore.
