There is an important ballet going on and the man almost reaches the doors of the Bolshi. However an unseen creature pulls him back into the street. Meanwhile, a rock-n-roll band from America is arriving at Domodedovo airport. The bandleader, Devon, is instantly smitten with a Russian female zookeeper that he sees unloading some coyotes from the plane. The coyotes are gifts from the American president to the Moscow zoo. The band members have exhausted their opportunities in America and are beginning a tour of Europe. Because the President of Russia has had an official anti-American policy, the youth rebel and American bands are all the rage. Devon is trying to break into the music world and also see the sights of Moscow with his band members Tony, Brad and Chris. To quell a possible youth riots, the Russian president is about to deport the five or six American bands in Moscow, but he thinks better of it. He allows an ad-hock Fourth of July concert at Lokomotiv Stadium, but after consulting the lunar calendar insists that it be held on a specific date. The date corresponds with the full moon. The rock bands are taken on limousine tours of Moscow. Galenka is the zoo keeper at the Moscow Zoo. When a child falls into the exhibit of large and aggressive timber wolves, they surround him. Galenka leaps into the pen and the wolves scatter. Devon then jumps into save Galenka. She doesn’t need saving however and soon the wolves have surrounded Devon. Galenka takes the child to safely and then must return for Devon. Devon explains that he was a diversion so Galenka could make her excape. Galenka is touched and a connection is made. Later that night, Devon and the band wait at the zoo exit but Galenka never exits. They enter the zoo after it is closed and find her locked in an enclosure. She tries to warn them and make them leave, but Devon is romantically interested in her. They talk to her trying to learn her story; however, they end up divulging the concert details. Finally, she aggress to go with them to the concert they are playing later that night. Galenka has fallen for Devon is going only to protect him. Galenka vanishes into the night on the way to the limousine, leaving Devon intrigued — and also he is unaware that she is the offspring of the couple (Serafine and Andy) seen 16 years earlier in An American Werewolf in Paris. Established businessmen, Serafine and Andy are now the owners of the largest fresh meat market in Moscow. Mayhem erupts at the concert a few minutes after the moon rises. The blood and carnage fits perfectly into the Russian president’s plan to demonize the Americans. He needs the Russian media and anti-American sentiment to maintain power. It is a distraction from the bad economy and some military defeats in the Ukraine. Devon escapes the attack but is bitten. When he awakens in Galenka’s bed, he has toothmarks on his leg and is informed that he’s making a transformation into a werewolf, confirmed by his sudden taste for rare steaks. In order for Devon and Galenka to become normal again, they must eat the heart of the werewolf that bit them. The President of the United States is attending a dinner at the Kremlin. Galenka and Devon learn that the city’s werewolves will congregate at the Kermlin before rampaging on the American delegation. Devon and Galenka have a plan and infiltrate the fort. They help the American president escape and manage to kill several werewolfs. The Kermlin security forces arrive and a fight ensues. Devon and Galenka manage to kill many werewolves, with Galenka shifting to her beast form to fight when she runs out of silver bullets. During a fight between Galenka and the largest werewolf (the president of Russia), Devon shoots one of the wolves but it turns out that he has shot Galenka. The largest werewolf makes his way onto a subway train, but slips onto the tracks. A train slams into him, causing him to transform back to a human. He tries to take another dose of the drug, but Devon stops him. As they fight, Devon discovers that the president of Russia is the werewolf that bit him. Devon then kills him and eats his heart, breaking the werewolf curse. Galenka is taken in an ambulance, but begins to show signs of transforming. The EMT, thinking she is going into shock, administers adrenaline, which stops the transformation. The closing scene shows Galenka and Devon having a child, whose eyes shift to look like the werewolves’.
