http://www.magicalrealism.us/2013/06/29/all-vampires-are-lesbians/ Moscow Vampires Are Lesbians or Vampires Are Such Bitches Screenplay by Lee Miller (copyright 2013) Moscow vampires are lesbians, more or less. The film opens in present day Moscow with several images of three young vampire women. There is woman from Tsarist Russia, Anastasia. There is a Soviet era woman, Natalia. And there is a modern Russian woman, Anna. Casting and costuming may make or break this film. There are 200 female vampires world-wide and 180 are in Moscow. The capital of Russia seems to be a Mecca for vampire lesbians. Male vampires are extinct and the females sick of being walked on and dominated have made a pact not to create male vampires. Creating a male vampire would mean death for any female vampire. The film begins with a daring bank robbery. Just as the sun is going down, the three ladies spring into action. They catch the bank manager on the sidewalk and the return to the bank. Entrance is easy and the robbery is simple. While in the bank a small car, dodging a black cat in the street, dents the fender of the limousine. They escape in the black limo but it is now unique. After the robbery, there is a night of shopping. Anastasia Romanov shops for books. Natalia Brezhnev shops for diamonds and jewelery. Anna Yeltsin shops for shoes. They drink stored blood from the limo fridge. They stop here and there about Moscow’s most trendy night clubs. Anastasia drinks milk. Natalia drinks Vodka. Anna drinks Margaritas. Natalia is clearly the leader, butch and her sex object is modern Anna. Anna however seems to be bi-sexual. There is an argument between the two lovers and Anna begins to flirt with the nightclub’s bouncer. Natalia in retaliation seduces a young Russian girl who perhaps might be a lesbian, young and she might only be experimenting. They have sex and at the height of it all, Yulia is made into a vampire. Nothing like a good spat between lovers. Out all night, they don’t return to the Radison Royal Hotel until minutes before sunrise. It seems they are out all night, every night. Anastasia Romanov and Natalia Brezhnev return in the limo and Anna Yeltsin returns in a taxi with her new male friend. As the women sleep, two Moscow city investigators, Victor (older) and Sergey (younger), watch the surveillance tapes of the robbery. The vampires do not show up on the tapes, but the doors open and the money walks out of the bank, and the police become aware of the dented get away car. The women wake up in a suite at almost sundown. Anna Yeltsin awakes in her bed with the muscle bound bar bouncer. He has been killed and judging from her expression it was an accident, but this pretty much happens every time Anna has sex with a virile man. She reveals that ichthyologists and ornithologist have been the only ones to survive her bed. Victor and Sergey are driving around Moscow from hotel to hotel looking for the limousine. And they see it in front of the hotel. They ask the doorman who used the limo and the doorman gives them the suite number. They call for the SWAT team and wait. Natalia Brezhnev wakes up in her bed with Yulia Yeltsin. She is cuddling with her and stroking her hair. Yulia doesn’t know she is a vampire yet. However, she wakes from her sleep and soon realizes. Natalia explains and feeds her some stored blood and she transforms after quite a drama. Anna Yeltsin barges in and is jealous. It seems this isn’t the first lover Natalia Brezhnev has been through. Natalia is very frustrated she can’t keep a lover more than 10 years but would rather just break it off and be with the new girl, Julia. Anna and Natalia have a cat fight in the hotel. This is a hair pulling, loud hissing, broken furniture disturbance. And Anastasia, who is generally only an observer, becomes concerned the police will be called to the rooms. She looks out the window into the twilight-light, she is singed by the sun. Anastasia Romanov sees an entire army of tactical military men storming the building. “What has happened to modern Russia? They call out the SWAT team for a simple domestic disturbance?” The cat fight stops and the women prepare to fight. They have to hold them off for 10 mins before the sun goes down. They don’t dare leave the rooms until dark. The women kill all the SWAT team and it is a bloody mess. Victor is right behind Sergey as he moves into Natalia’s Brezhnev room. Of course, he is frightened but Sergey is the hero. The three women have frozen them with hypnosis are about to kill them, but Julia Yeltsin stops them. She knows Sergey from childhood and they were school mates. Sergey can speak but can’t move. Julia begs Natalia Brezhnev to let them live. Nothing is done, and there is a long awkward moment. But Anastasia Romanov mentions that it is now dark outside. The two policemen are spared. The women take the money from the robbery, steal two cars. Natalia Brezhnev and Anna Yeltsin refuse to ride in the same car and are still arguing with each other. They drive through the streets to their mansion. They collect passports and hide most of the money. They take some of the money with them to the airport. On the way to the airport, the convoy stops several times. Anastasia Romanov stops at a historical archive and steals a very old book. Natalia Brezhnev goes up the Kremlin wall and comes back with a huge diamond. Anna Yeltsin breaks into a sporting good shop and steals a tennis outfit. Presumably they drink blood of male security guards at each stop. Julia insists that they stop at a hospital and she steals stored blood. Victor and Sergey are racing after them to the airport. Anna Yeltsin is using her cell phone to exchange curse words with Natalia Brezhnev and runs her car into a gasoline truck. Her legs are pinned and she can’t get out. Fuel is spilling everywhere. Victor tries to rescue her, he breaks the window and gives a good effort to get her out. However the fuel catches fire. Victor is propelled back and away from the flames and Anna is consumed by the flames. At the airport the women, decide the only safe destination is New York. It needs to be dark when they arrive. This is calculated. Yulia is aware that perhaps Sergey will soon arrive, so she drops the schedule with “New York” marked. The women board the flight. Victor and Sergey arrive and board the flight. Soon after takeoff Chechen rebels take over the plane and turn it toward the Mediterranean. They are over heard; they plan to crash the plane into a Russian aircraft carrier. Victor is very ill on the plane. Anastasia Romanov uses her smart phone app to calculate the sunrise in Syria, Athens Rome and Barcelona. They will not arrive before sunrise. Syria will be close, very close but they will burn taxing to the terminal. Chechens are in communications with someone who is telling them where the ship is. The women wait and try to calculate their location with their cell phones. They aren’t going to Syria but to the Western Mediterranean. And the sun will catch them. This could be the end of the road for our undead friends, but there is a solution — open the door of the plane and jump out. It isn’t hard to fall out of a plane, the work difficult part is when you hit the ground. So rather than burn in the Mediterranean sun, they jump from the depressurized plane. The Chechens claim to have a bomb but it turns out to be a television remote control. The women jump out into the countryside and the plane crash lands at the Transylvanian Regional Airport. The passengers are safe. Leaving the plane, Victor gathers the ice chest with Yulia’s blood supply. The Victor and Sergey call Moscow and report that the bank robbers and the terrorists jumped out of the plane. Presumed dead. Case closed. However, they are leaving the airport for a hotel and Sergey worries about the women. Victor tells him that they are in the castle, which there is a castle there on the hill, very much a cliché from all the old movies. Well, it is our three Russian vampire women are safe for the day. It is open to tourists in the day and they hide in the basement until night. Anastasia Romanov loves the grandeur of the castle and will probably stay reading books the test of eternity. Natalia Brezhnev doesn’t like the isolation and goes into the city hunting. Yulia Yeltsin calculates that Sergey is in the city. There is a single night tour for the brave tourists. There is an aristocratic man on the tour, a perfect match for Anastasia Romanov. Anastasia joins the tour, She is shy and old fashion but he persuades her to leave the tour down the hallway for one of the rooms. We don’t see what happens. Yulia Yeltsin and Sergey have coffee and talk at a cafe, but when Yulia suddenly sees Natalia Brezhnev approaching. Natalia turns into a night club and Yulia follows. There may be a confrontation, because Yulia aims to protect Sergey and be with him. Yulia tells Sergey to go back to the hotel, but he follows Yulia. They follow Natalia Brezhnev through the club. She has picked up a victim in almost no time at all and has led him out into the alley. He is dead when Yulia Yeltsin and Sergey reach him. The Romanian police aren’t far behind and Yulia considers killing the Romanian police but Sergey convinces her not to. They are taken to a jail. Five minutes before sun-up, Anastasia and her new aristocratic man walk the tour group to the front door and bid them good bye. They ask the group to return again soon. It appears that they have killed tour guide and have taken over the castle. At the last few minute, Victor crashed his car into the wall of the jail and makes entry. Natalia Brezhnev at the same time enters in thought the front door, slashing. Evidently, she is a jealous rage and there to kill both Yulia Yeltsin and Sergey. Victor is there to save her from the sunrise that will shine through the cell’s window. Victor reaches Yulia Yeltsin first, but Natalia Brezhnev has Sergey with a gun pointed at his temple. She points the gun at Victor and fires… of course he is a vampire and was made undead in Moscow when the car was on fire. Anna Yeltsin in her last seconds made him a vampire. Natalia feeling tricked and outnumbered shoots Sergey. Natalia and Victor have a fight and with a death grip Victor hurls them both into the sunlight. Yulia runs to Sergey. His wound doesn’t seem too sever and Yulia wants to bite him, but stops, kisses him and begins to cry. Yulia sees a woman who is motioning for them run through the sunlight into her home. She may or may not be a vampire. We aren’t certain, but her home does look rather dark inside. At the end, a few Romanian police and the entire population has pitch forks hammers and stakes are crowding around the jail. By the time they arrive Yulia and Sergey are gone. In an alternative ending however, Sergey’s wounds are serious and to save him Yulia must bite him turning him into a vampire. After delivering the bite much, Lena flies backwards, crashing into the wall like Louise did when she bit her. Yulia whispers, “Forgive me,” as Tom rises on his feet and they run into the lady’s home. The moral of the story is that only Soviet era vampires are lesbians.
