EVIL SPIRIT IN SITGES
By Gerard Thoolen

GENRE: Horror
LOGLINE: A haunted tablet PC plagues a young couple and their baby, a friend claims the only solution is to burn themselves, alive.

SYNOPSIS:

Ana, Juan and their first baby start living in a new house in a quiet beach village. One day at home, Ana suddenly hears the sound of an ambulance siren screaming through the rooms. But there is no ambulance anywhere near the house. Their tablet PC switches itself on. Terrified, Ana sees on its screen two nurses taking her baby away in an ambulance. She rushes upstairs and sees her baby is sweet and safe, asleep. When she tells Juan about it he doesn’t believe her. Over the following days, other weird things happen, each time more dangerous than the last. Finally a bad phenomenon threatens their baby. Ana and Juan discover many of the weird things relate to one another. However, they argue about why all this is happening and how to save themselves. Ana believes it’s black magic. Juan disagrees with this and comes up with a plan. It fails and unnatural creatures invade their home. They are able to beat them but suffer an ugly eczema-like rash after blood contact with the creatures. And the next morning after, Juan wakes up with a mysterious, horrendous mutilation. Desperate, Ana seeks help from their friends Raul and Carmen, an older couple who previously lived in the house. Raul admits the place was haunted when they lived there. He had performed a magic ritual to purify the house from an evil spirit which was seeking revenge for the dreadful deeds of a former laboratory engineer. Raul offers to perform the same ritual, to help Ana and Juan. They accept. However, while Ana and Juan are asleep, Raul and Carmen tie their hands and feet. When Ana and Juan wake up, Raul claims he has to burn them alive, as part of the saving ritual. Ana comes up with a clever trick to escape from the ritual - at the cost of a cruel price.
