SYNOPSIS:

A Preacher Emmet Jackson has helped build Wilson City on a foundation of faith. He does this while he hides a sinful secret as he indulges in a relationship with a husband-less Native-American mother. He’s faith is put to the test when and rogue gang rides through town and take off with four of the town’s women, this includes Emmet's true love Wenona and he son Chitto. After time in prayer Emmet knows he must turn to the man he detests the most, his outlaw father Bedan Jackson. Emmet travels with the husbands of other missing women to his childhood home. After Bedan turns down Emmet's plea and the opportunity of great monetary reward, he changes his mind after he learns the name of the man they are chasing. The gang leader Lester Graves was once a childhood friend before he turned on Bedan and killed his mother and father for the price of a drink. Bedan quest for revenge turned him into an image of the man he was chasing. A drunken outlaw and wife beater he starts on a road to redemption while keeping his motives a secret from Emmet. Bedan springs a surprise on Emmet when he introduces him to his half-bread half-brother Cuffy. After capturing one of Graves's gang he sends a message back to Graves already knowing the answer. Before One-Eye can deliver the message Chitto is killed by Bullet, the youngest of Graves's crew. After discovering the death Bedan questions Emmet's ability to find his evil to make sure he gets his revenge. Travelling deeper into the badlands they face further lose, and conflict with an Indian tribe that sheds further light on Bedan’s past. Bedan seeks revenge while hoping for redemption while Emmet’s faith is put to test at every turn. Their relationship solidifies as they enter the final battle in which Bedan sacrifices his life for another.
