After 75 percent of the Detroit police force is laid off due to budget cuts, a multi-cultural Canadian police unit is sent over to patrol Motowns mean streets under the banner of the Neighbours Helping Neighbors.
SYNOPSIS:
Sitcom: Detroit, Michigan is bankrupt. City services are cut to the bone as the recession grinds on. Broke, Detroit cannot even pay its police. Windsor/Detroit is the busiest border crossing in North America. Canadian politicians and business owners are pushing for a "second span" of the Detroit River; a second bridge to augment the outdated, inadequate Ambassador Bridge. This second span, called "Rainbow Bridge", will dramatically increase the flow of commerce between Canada and the United States. In order to ensure the bridge doesn't lead into a blackhole of chaos, a force of 173 Canadian police officers from around Ontario are recruited for the Neighbours Helping Neighbors Initiative. "Rainbow Bridge" follows the story of one police unit in that Canadian Task Force.
