GENRE: Horror, Drama
LOGLINE:

An intuitive woman living in denial of her deep connection to the spirit world is forced to embrace her power and confront her fears to save her dying father.

SYNOPSIS:

As a child, LENA began having disturbing dreams about her father’s death. Those recurring dreams and other unexplained visions have laid dormant for years, but once she is forced to move back into her childhood bedroom, they return - now more alarming. A trip to New Orleans sheds light on Lena’s simultaneous attraction to and petrifying fear of her connection to the spirit world. A fortune teller guides Lena to the revelation that she has a genealogical connection to Santeria and is destined to practice voodoo. This knowledge reinforces the fears she shares with her father who also knows about the family connection and has condemned the practice in his catholic household. Lena is put to the ultimate test when her father falls ill. As he lays in a coma, she learns that embracing her connection could potentially save his life. To do that, Lena must let go of her reservations and deal with her horrific past. She is haunted by guilt, having witnessed her brother’s death when they were children. Once she lets go of her shame for not being able to save him, Lena is finally able to reach her father in the spirit world - a world where he is trapped within his own guilt. Santeria- the thing that initially drove a wedge between Lena and her father is what ultimately saves his life. With their renewed connection, Lena taps into a full expression of her spiritual gifts, protecting her young nephew as she discovers he is next in the family line.
