GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE:
Tasked with sanitizing the PR screw-ups of his so-called superiors in Parliament, idealistic underachieving Party minion Ben is forced to rely on his ethics-challenged coworkers as they try to climb over each other up the same political ladder. (30-min)
Randall, this sounds really enjoyable. I got sucked into HOUSE OF CARDS by all the hype, by the fact that Kevin Spacey's really talented, and by the cool-noir-menacing lead-in to every episode. But I think that series has a really bloated opinion of itself...we're asked to believe that "Frank Underwood" (I forget what he's called in the original UK version) is this political-tactical genius, but his supposed "genius" status is only demonstrated by how stupidly his rivals behave. I think ditching drama for comedy, and creating a sort of worm's-eye-view protagonist who's tasked with cleaning up the messes of his supposed "superiors", would be not only more fun, but more realistic too, almost by accident - I think most people realize most politicians aren't geniuses of any kind. This could be really cool - best of luck with this!
