SYNOPSIS:
“Life’s Wicked Road” is based on Don’s family’s story of renting a house on a flower plantation which had been farmed by interned Japanese-Americans. The unity of the Oakie culture and details of mid-century relationships have been lovingly reconstructed, bridging the gap between generations and establishing a resonance between us and these very real characters. It dramatizes the choices made by that generation, our parents and grandparents, when they were young, during a time of war, uncertainty and great change. “Life’s Wicked Road” is our story depicting the roots of current American culture.
