The condition known as QSD, or Quantum Stability disorder, will be officially verified by CERN as part of the Multiverse Project on March 19, 2034, but in 2011, the man who was ultimately designated Patient Zero, starts every day of his life as a blank, with memories of multiple realities slowly filling in. Patient Zero was unique, QSD has proven to be lethal, but Patient Zero also has multiple personality disorder, and the two conditions, in combination, allow him to filter his mismatched memories so that he can pass as normal. Patient Zero would have remained unknown, except for the Denver Event, where he and his daughter miraculously survived a commercial jet crash, after which he woke up remembering everything, except for any details of the bizarre life he found himself in, and the certain knowledge that he had been playing a part in a chain of events which could change or destroy the every reality he was connected to.

As you are no doubt aware, following declassification of The Denver Event, Patient Zero, soon to be revealed as Mark Elliot, will be releasing a book describing his previously classified involvement in The Denver Event, and the Multiverse frame variations that have resulted. This letter is an attempt to provide you with some context prior to the book's release.

On March 19, 2034 the existence of a condition known as Quantum Stability Disorder, or QSD, was officially verified by CERN as part of the Multiverse Project's research on The Denver Event, which served as the foundation upon which experiments proving both The Third Person Rule and Quantum Immortality were based.

A subject with QSD becomes aware of displaced non-causal memories that result from asymmetric state changes in the quantum vibrations governing consciousness. In lay terms, this means that the subject's awareness flickers between their current reality frame and other closely related reality frame variants. QSD has proven to be lethal for everybody who has suffered from the condition, with the single exception of Patient Zero.

Patient Zero was raised by both parents. He had a brother and two sisters. He was married twice and had one child. Neither his parents nor his siblings have exhibited symptoms. His child's status is scientifically inconclusive but his soon to be released book implies otherwise.

From the perspective of outside observers, through 2011, Patient Zero's life appeared completely unremarkable. From a subjective perspective, it was anything but. Every day Patient Zero would wake up with no memory. Over the course of the day his memories, both causal (normal) and non-causal (displaced), would gradually return.

Patient Zero is unique in that he also suffers from a second, normally crippling condition, known as disassociated identity disorder (aka multiple personality disorder). In his extraordinary circumstance, the two conditions have interacted in a way that has allowed him to survive, pass as normal, and even flourish, by providing both the ability to filter the different memory types, and the skills to navigate the periods of time where he has no memory.

As you know, prior to The Denver Event, Patient Zero successfully concealed his condition for fifty years, until the unique circumstances of the event led to the US government becoming aware of his existence.

The Denver Event's effect on Patient Zero was multifaceted. What we have verified, is that he awoke in several closely related reality frame variations, with a sustained low level connectivity. What remained classified however, was Patient Zero's unverified report of a reality frame variant in which he awoke with his memories completely intact, but without the ability to acquire any host frame memories. His description of that frame variation was so bizarre that it strained credibility.

The details are as follows: He claims to have arrived in September of 2003, displaced eight years prior to The Denver Event, where he discovered that he was connected to some undisclosed process which could change or destroy every frame variant he was connected to, including ours. The existence of the project investigating this claim will remain classified.

Even under the remarkable circumstances of his condition, we can't begin to evaluate the validity of an account which will soon become public.

All team members have been urged to use the utmost discretion if they are asked to discuss anything related to Mr. Elliot's book.

An abnormal variant of consciousness resulting in non-causal memories derived from asymmetric state changes in the quantum vibrations of microtubule protein polymers inside brain neurons, which both govern neuronal and synaptic function, and connect brain processes to self-organizing processes in the fine scale, proto-conscious quantum structure of reality.
