After losing their lead actress, an eccentric local theatre group and their curmudgeonly director blackmail a young pickpocket into filling the role.

SYNOPSIS:

The Rowing Dove local black box theatre has seen better days as they near the start of their new season. But when one of their key actresses suddenly leaves to go work on a television pilot, they scramble to put together a haphazard audition, a perennial pet peeve of their curmudgeonly director FLEA. When no suitable replacement is found, their season looks doomed. That is, until CALEB, a writer and actor who also works as a night security guard catches a runaway pickpocket named FLORENCE. Impressed with her acting abilities, he offers her an ultimatum: join the theatre troupe or he'll go to the police. Like 30 ROCK meets WAITING FOR GUFFMAN, Rowing Dove is an offbeat comedy series following the misadventures of an eccentric - and often questionable - group of amateur artists.
