On the Lower East Side of Manhattan, where supernatural creatures have
built a hidden criminal empire, a grizzled NYPD detective partners with a
rebellious teen vampire to solve a string of cold cases that could
bring that empire down.

SYNOPSIS:

"Shadow City" is a horror procedural about Detective Dominic Johnson, a

veteran homicide detective whose lust for justice has been beaten down

by the system, he hoped to change. Then Ben, the magic-using brother of

Tara Love, an exsanguinated murder VIC that Dominic was assigned to 20

years ago, shows up mysteriously killed. Ben's independent

investigations into a series of what the NYPD deem to be cold cases

launches Detective Johnson into a world where supernatural creatures and

magic users make up a criminal underworld led by Deirdre La Fey, a

centuries-old witch bent on using innocent "naturals," their pejorative

for normal humans, in her evil machinations. In over his head, the

the detective must partner with Tara, now a vampire in a teenage girl's

body, to help solve the murder of Ben at the hands of Deirdre, as well

as solve a series of murders perpetrated by supernatural creatures all

working for her criminal empire.
