When an idealistic wildlife biologist frees a wolf from its tracking device and sets out to re-wild herself, she sparks war between ranchers, conservationists and antigovernment militias in the remote high desert.

SYNOPSIS:

Mackie's quest to free a wolf from its tracking device and live like a wolf herself ('re-wild') ignites conflicts among ranchers who hate wolves, conservationists who hate cows and antigovernment militias intent on rebellion. Caught in the middle is the Sheriff, who is forced to take sides, even if they're not the side we expect. Mackie's journey into the wild jolts the remote community out of its norms. The bitter battles she inadvertently starts reflect broader wars in our country as a whole.
