In the late-1990s, four Hmong brothers navigate the complexities of growing up in a tight-knit American community while striving to fulfill their own aspirations and maintain their immigrant parents' Hmong tradition.

SYNOPSIS:

In the summer of 1998, recent junior college grad Touby must decide whether to marry his pregnant sweetheart or pursue his dream of becoming a social worker, while his brother Johnny, a high school grad, pursues a long time crush he admired since middle school. At the same time, their brothers, Jimmy, a video game addict, and Rocky, a wannabe gang-banger, learn the responsibility of adulthood and harsh consequence of joining a local street gang.
