BRONSKY
By Momcilo Mrdakovic

GENRE: Drama, Comedy
LOGLINE:

After his experience in concentration camps during the Second World War, young German-Jewish writer tries something almost equally hard, to survive in New York City in the 1950’s.

SYNOPSIS:

In this dark comedy, we follow JAKOB BRONSKY, a blonde, blue eyed German Jew, who is the only member of his family to evade death in the concentration camp. As the sole survivor he takes up the chance to emigrate to the US. In NYC he finds a precarious home where he discovers how extraordinarily hard it is to survive as an outsider. While attempting to write his first novel, JAKOB plumbs the underbelly of the city in an effort to scrape together a living. It is the early 50s and the cutthroat capitalism is inhospitable to artists, least of all of the poor immigrants who are trying to make their way creatively.
