LOGLINE:

With her newly acquired gift of reading minds, a teenage poetess does more harm than good but tries to redeem herself before she does irreparable damage to the most vulnerable people in her lives ... including herself.

SYNOPSIS:

In Sight is a paranormal drama in which a teenager comes into possession of an amulet that allows her to see into the minds of other people who have serious problems. Maya, an extremely poor girl who has nothing but her poetry, manages to save several people from almost certain death, but she can't help herself and suffers from depression and an eating disorder. One night, Maya babysits for MJ a little boy who thinks his art can take him out of his poverty, but when he makes Maya angry, she calls him stupid. Maya can see the boy's hope light die out in his mind, and she realizes that it is because of her. After she leaves the boy's house, she must go home to her mother who thinks her powers are evil and has tried to force Maya to stop. Defiant and disrespectful, Maya refuses to listen to her mother. When she gets back to her house, she finds her mother dying. While Maya tries to save her, she sees her mother's life flash by in her mind and realizes that she could have helped her, but her stubbornness did not allow her to. After her mother dies, Maya moves in with an aunt who explains to her about her powers. Maya can't bear the guilt of all she has done, but just as she is about to kill herself, she gets a text from MJ that changes everything.
