SYNOPSIS:

It's the first day of school and energy, nerves and anticipation is in the air. However, a shocking news announcement at school puts a speed bump on this day. The kids learn that due to several reasons, their school will be closing down indefinitely and they will be forced to attend a new school…one and half hours away! This sparks an outcry of anger and frustration among parents and students alike. At a board meeting, the Mayor reveals that there might be one way around this. And that is that if the town can raise $1.2 M, then they can build another school nearby. The town immediately takes him up on this idea and minds start racing for the solution. But the money trickles in very slowly, one day while selling cookies with festive lights around the booth, a prosperous lady walks by and is taken by the beautiful holiday lights. She gives the unsuspecting girl $200. This instantly causes people to amp up the festivities and go all out….lights and all! This really gets the town into motion and a local news studio gets wind and helps put the finishing financial touches to the fundraiser and the town, just at the deadline, raises their money.
