SYNOPSIS:

President-Elect Nelson Markwell is in for a shock on Election night when NASA takes him for the ride of a lifetime. Arriving on the USS Constellation in geosynchronous orbit over mid-America, he is introduced to President Neil Winslow, Operations Officer Eric Armitage, and Captain Theresa Powell. The USS Constellation is ready to launch in late May 2017 and the six hundred crew members of Spaceport Trail Blazer are waiting for the new president’s decision to begin the launch sequence that will send them on a thirty-two year voyage to a newly discovered habitable planet. Nelson’s stunning Inaugural speech discloses the operation and excites the imagination of the world but puts the mission in great jeopardy. Eric and the Trail Blazer crew are rushed to make up four weeks of shuttle missions to transfer 600 crew members and tons of supplies. America’s colonial space ambitions spark international controversy as North Korea and Iran threaten to destroy the vulnerable USS Constellation.
