THE GOSPEL OF IVAN
By Arthur Charpentier

GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE:

Volunteer Ivan, in order to become president, must win the favor of the voters of a huge country in a short time. However, he does not know that not only does a person change the path, but the path also changes the person.

SYNOPSIS:

The plot is based on the gospel events.

I have been studying the Bible for several years, trying to understand what events it is a metaphor for. This plot is a story about Jesus devoid of religious mysticism and miracles, and is made in the form of a political drama.

A kind, honest and fair young man named Ivan decides to organize a volunteer movement to help people solve their problems. Ivan is from a simple family. His father is a worker, his mother is a teacher.

Ivan is a handsome, intelligent, educated man. He gathers a team of like-minded people from ten people who travel around the country and help people after natural disasters, epidemics, raise funds for the poor and fight against the arbitrariness of officials and bureaucrats.

People praise Ivan's organization and ask him first to become the mayor of the city, then a deputy of the district assembly, then the state Duma and, eventually, the president.

Succumbing to the influence of the environment, the speeches of flatterers and deceivers, he decides to fight for the presidency and together with the team goes to Moscow.

On the way, Ivan's conceit increases dramatically. From a great guy, he turns into a braggart, a hypocrite, a spender and a libertine who already sees himself in the president's chair. For the sake of the company's PR, Ivan commits low deeds and contacts unworthy people.

In Moscow, one of the volunteer team betrays Ivan and he is arrested by the police. His entire team, friends and confidants flee in fear to different regions of the country.

In prison, Ivan is tortured to confess to his crimes. Ivan breaks down and gives up all the accomplices and signs all the confessions. He realizes what a jerk he has become and writes a letter asking for help to the ECHR and the UN, but the head of the detention center decides to curry favor with the president of the country and orders Ivan to be eliminated. The guard kills him and then announces his escape. Since then, no one has seen Ivan, and the authorities recognize him as missing.

The volunteers return home and decide to revive the organization in order to continue helping people solve their problems, but without Ivan.
