SYNOPSIS:
When Vincent Gudenov, 50's, a B movie maker, learns he must make a financially successful film in order to get his inheritance, he and his wife, Bianca set out to make a reality indie movie about two scientists, Maddie and Spencer, who have just discovered a new fuel. Maddie, late 20's, who is following in her family tradition of being a scientist secretly longs to connect with her baker father, who she hasn't seen since she was a child, by recreating his famous muffin recipe. When Caroline, 50's, Maddie’s stern mother and Dean of the University who despises Maddie's baking, discovers it was her ex husband, Angelo's, muffins that made the fuel work, she shuts down the project and threatens to fire Maddie. After Caroline storms out of the lab, Vincent and Bianca convince Maddie that she should stand up to her mother for the sake of the film and more importantly herself. When Maddie confronts Caroline she discovers that it was really her fear of her love for Angelo that motivated Caroline's irrational hatred of baking. Maddie persuades Caroline to not only reinstate the fuel project but also work together as a mother and daughter scientist team on the muffin fuel. The muffin fuel is a success. The Gudenovs' film, The Muffin Conundrum, is a smash hit, Caroline gets offered a CEO job, and Maddie and Spencer go back to their normal lives with the promise of a new romance.
