DUCK TAPES
By Bob Wagner

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE: Hawk Eider, a Memphis investigator, must locate a bumbling pair of kidnappers before they make good on their threat to release the world famous ducks from the Peabody Hotel into the wild on the first day of hunting season.

SYNOPSIS:

The Peabody Hotel hires an investigator to recover its renowned ducks, stolen brazenly from the hotel lobby. HAWK EIDER, CINNAMON TEAL and JIMBO WIGEON set up shop in a room just off the lobby and await details of the ransom drop. The kidnappers have demanded one million dollars, the Chattanooga Choo Choo, and clear passage to the Bahamas. While the hotel tries to placate its guests with duck substitutes, Hawk and the others pore over the kidnappers’ communiqués -- presented in an outdated format -- for clues. Following those clues and others from eyewitnesses, the investigators pursue the kidnappers across the city, each time missing them by only minutes. On the third day, after the hotel has paid the ransom, Hawk is only seconds away from catching the kidnappers when they use a decidedly 21st Century diversion to escape. True to their word, they leave behind the ducks for recovery.
