A gay man begins to question his relationship with his husband after an especially trying visit with his homophobic father.
SYNOPSIS:
Deep Johar awakens to the sound of his flamboyant neighbors, Steve and Joseph coddling their Pomeranian, Natasha, rolls out of bed, leaving his loving husband, Kiran sleeping, until he can meet him in the kitchen for a quick slow dance. But this morning is different, this morning he’s going to visit his parents, including his father, Pavel, who is not the least bit approving of his relationship. Deep arrives only to be instantly driven out by his father’s cruel rhetoric despite his mother’s pleas. At work, he becomes overly defensive with a co-worker about Kiran and ends up getting punched in the eye. At home, Steve and Joseph obnoxiously block him as they search for Natasha, who has gotten loose. He explodes, dissociates, denying his orientation to his husband, even calling his ex-wife for reinforcement. Kiran gets fed up and leaves, prompting an intense conversation about love and the beauty of people’s differences with his mother where he reexamines who he really is and finally stands up to his prejudiced father.
