The US internet is taken offline leaving America in meltdown but when an uncommunicative Secret Service agent catches the accused hackers he uncovers his own agency’s plot to stop a leak which would take down the Presidency; helping the hackers expose what his old boss will do anything to cover up is the only hope to save freedom of speech for mankind.

SYNOPSIS:

Jake is a Secret Service agent who has his own secret from his pregnant wife Sophia.

Jake is protecting a Presidential Candidate whose Liberal political views he disagrees with and who he tries to get Seth, Director of Special Projects (a man obsessed with the game Coin Crunch on his phone), to take him off the job, but Lucien, Director of the Secret Service denies his request. When Jake refuses to follow bad orders from Lucien he saves the Candidate's life from an assassin.

The Candidate goes on a TV Presidential debate and tells the audience he's released information on his website that proves the President has plans to implement a mass surveillance system that will compromise US citizen's rights to privacy; on his way from the debate, while Jake is being de-briefed about the previous assassination attempt, the Candidate is killed, by the same assassin that attempted to kill him the day before. As Jake scrambles to get the Secret Service to find this assassin and who's behind him, the entire internet across America goes down.

Lucien informs the Secret Service about a group of hackers, NoD, who are responsible. When the Secret Service go in to take NoD down Jake is held back from the job by Lucien for disobeying orders, but he goes on the job anyway and after working out how NoD have managed to escape the Secret Service he catches the hacker group but before he can drag them in to base discovers Lucien had been directing one of the hackers, Acid, to drop the net.

Jake goes on the run with the hackers and tries to help them find out why Lucien wanted to take the net down and get the information to the President. Jake and Trailblazer, the main hacker in NoD, have to outwit Lucien's attempts to catch them using facial recognition scanners, drones, hacking their emails and social media, and other modern government spy tactics, to discover it's not just a new surveillance system the President is installing, but he plans to install a government controlled internet, and framing NoD for taking the net down was a tactic to scare people into accepting his plan.

One of the tactics Lucien uses is to email the woman Jake has kept secret from Sophia, pretending to be Jake, and get her to come on TV with Jake's son and tell Jake she loves him too and she agrees NoD are traitors. This divides the camp and Jake's relationship with his wife, who wants to leave the group but only stays because she's developed a kinship with them all, including Acid who everyone else shuns because of the damage he caused by working with Lucien.

The only chance of keeping the net free is NoD breaking into the Data Center in Utah, where the new government net is based, turning the net back on and releasing their information to every email in America. Sophia stays behind to co-ordinate the project.

In order to get into the Data Center Jake had to accept the help of Seth who was shocked to hear of Lucien and the President's plan. Once Jake and NoD get inside the Data Center, get past the General who controls it, and kill Lucien, they re-group with Seth to work out how to get the message to America, but Seth was blackmailing Lucien and the President to implement the new net the whole time and Jake and NoD are caught.

It seems all is lost, but Acid, the hacker who had worked with Lucien (who Seth was controlling) to take the net down, because Jake's wife has always been nice to him, escapes into the data Center and releases the information that Seth has been blackmailing the President to the General, who tries to catch Seth but he escapes in his helicopter.

Jake and the General (now on NoD's side after reviewing the President blackmail information) try to send the information proving what the President and Seth did out to the US public, but Seth gets the President to bomb the Data Center.

Jake manages to talk to the President who explains he risked losing everything from the blackmail, but Jake makes him see that by killing them and destroying the internet he really will lose everything because he will be a traitor and his people will be trapped. The President stops the bombing and Sophia helps Jake break down the computer systems to send the message to America, when Seth grabs her and demands he destroys the message or he'll kill her. Jake stalls Seth and alerts the President who sends a SWAT team, but they can't get a clear shot at him, so Jake sends $1,000 of credits to Seth's Coin Crunch game which he just can't stop himself from looking at his screen, and the SWAT team get their shot and take him out.

Jake sends a message to the whole of America exposing the government's plot to control the net, and ensuring it stays free.
